IPS School District 2

Venita J. Moore, CPA, MBA


As an alum of IPS Arlington High School, daughter of an IPS graduate and parent of an IPS graduate, Venita J. Moore places quality and equitable education for IPS students at the top of her agenda.  Moore has served as an IPS School Board Commissioner, representing District 2, since being elected in 2016. She has served as Vice Chair of the IPS School Board and ushered in essential initiatives to keep IPS students supported, including the purchase of thousands of Chromebooks, information technology upgrades, and community mobile hotspots.


Moore is driven by her passion for equitable access to opportunity for IPS students.  Since her first day on the job, Commissioner Moore has worked with the board to:

  • Generate critical funding for the district through passage of a referendum;

  • Ensure pay raises for IPS Teachers and Bus Drivers; and

  • Distribute healthy meals to IPS families during COVID-19. Within District 2, Moore has coordinated the delivery of 11,930 boxes of Gleaners meals and more than 120,000 meals served by IPS Food Service.   


In addition to serving on the IPS school board, Moore is one of the founding Principals of Engaging Solutions, an Indianapolis based, management consulting firm. Additionally, Moore serves the community by providing leadership to the following:  

  • Indiana CPA Society

  • Mount Zion Indianapolis Federal Credit Union

  • Indiana Black Expo

  • Asante Children’s Theater

  • American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

  • The National Association of Black Accountants

  • Circle City Links

  • Delta Sigma Theta Sorority

  • Mount Vernon Baptist Church


Moore is an IPS Hall of Fame inductee and is featured in Who’s Who in Black Indianapolis. She has received numerous awards, including the State of Indiana’s highest award - the Sagamore of the Wabash.


Moore loves traveling with her husband Joe and supporting the activities of their daughter, MaCie'.
